Six key themes have been announced for the upcoming COMPUTEX TAIPEI show, Taiwan’s premiere ICT trade show. The 2018 show will highlight the themes of: artificial intelligence (AI); 5th-generation mobile communications (5G); the Internet of Things (IoT); gaming and virtual reality (VR); blockchain; and startups.
Taiwan Trade Centre, London
Fifth generation mobile communications and blockchain are new themes for this year. 5G giants Qualcomm and Ericsson, as well as IBM, a leader in blockchain application technology, will participate in the COMPUTEX forum as keynote speakers to share the latest trends in their fields.
Scheduled to take place on 5-9 June (6-8 June for InnoVEX, the trade show’s feature exhibit for startups), COMPUTEX is a world leading B2B ICT trade show. It has been organized by TAITRA and the Taiwan Computer Association (TCA) since 1981.
The InnoVEX exhibit at COMPUTEX, going into its third year, will offer an even stronger lineup of startup companies this year.
More than 300 startups from 19 countries will be participating in this year's InnoVEX. International teams will make up 40% of the startups, of which one-third operate in artificial intelligence.
There will also be 13 national pavilions organized by the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Poland, the EU, Malaysia, Mexico and South Korea among others, a threefold increase on last year.
In 2017 over 41,000 international visitors from 167 countries attended COMPUTEX. The 2018 show is expected to gather over 1,600 exhibitors.
